General conditions:
Biometric Passport and/or Biometric National Identity Card (CNIBE): First Application
- Valid consular registration card
- 12S birth certificate
- Passport and/or CNIBE application form, to be downloaded from the website of the Consulate General
- Two biometric photographs, identical and printed from the same batch
Biometric Passport and/or CNIBE: Renewal
- Valid consular registration card
- 12S birth certificate if the biometric passport and/or CNIBE being renewed was issued in Algeria or at another diplomatic or consular post
- Passport/CNIBE application form, to be downloaded from the website of the Consulate General
- Two biometric photographs, identical and printed from the same batch
- Expired passport and/or CNIBE
In accordance with Algerian legislation, applications for passports and/or biometric national identity cards submitted on behalf of minors (under 19 years of age on the date of application) are subject to the presence and authorization of the legal guardian.
Applications submitted on behalf of children under 12 years of age do not require their physical presence at the Consulate General for the completion of the enrolment procedures.
These applications must be submitted by the legal representative in person or by post, ensuring that the relevant documents are enclosed:
- Consular registration card of the legal representative
- 12S birth certificate, if this is a first application
- Passport/CNIBE application form, to be downloaded from the website of the Consulate General
- Copy of any document proving residence in the United Kingdom (e-visa, British passport)
- Two biometric photographs, identical and printed from the same batch
Fees According to the Consular Fee Schedule
- 28-page biometric passport: £55 (Adults); £27.50 (Minors and students over 19 years of age)
- 48-page biometric passport: £110 (Adults); £55 (Minors and students over 19 years of age)
- Fee in the event of loss, theft or damage to the passport: £100 (Adults); £50 (Minors and students aged 19 and over)
- Fee in the event of loss, theft or damage to the CNIBE: £10
*Consular fees must be paid in cash or by postal order.
Important Note:
The passport is valid for ten (10) years. For minors under 19 years of age, the validity period is five years.
Passport renewal may be requested in the following cases:
- During the six (6) months preceding the expiry of its validity period
- When it is no longer possible to add new visas to the pages provided for this purpose
- When the passport has been declared lost, stolen or damaged
- Passport photo requirements
- New service for citizens whose photo has been rejected
