Visit of the Consul of Algeria Mrs. KENZA BENALI to the Borough of Islington, on the 27^th July 2018

As part of her activities, Mrs. KENZA BENALI the consul of Algeria in London had made a courtesy visit to Ms. Mouna HAMITOUCHE, Councillor at London Borough of Islington, on the 27^th July 2018.

The meeting comes following the re-election for the fourth consecutive term in office of Ms. HAMITOUCHE as Councillor in the Borough of Islington (North of London) which is considered as one of the most important municipalities of Greater London.

It’s worth to mention that Ms. HAMITOUCHE is the first woman from the Arab world in the history of the United Kingdom to have been elected Councillor and Mayor of a Borough in the United Kingdom. Her name is now written in golden letter on the prestigious list of the mayors who have succeeded to occupy this position at this important Borough.

During this visit , the Consul and Ms. HAMITOUCHE have discussion about issues of common interest of our compatriots established in the United Kingdom, the actions of the public authorities in the direction of our nationals and the means to strengthen the links between Algeria and the United Kingdom.

On the occasion of her visit to Islington Town Hall, the Consul had the opportunity to meet with Councillor Richard Wattts, leader of the Council and Councillor Kaya Comer-Schwartz Executive Member of the Community Development.
